Are we there yet?

Ever heard or uttered those words dreaded by parents everywhere. Are we there yet? It’s the sound of a person who is so over the trip you are taking. Are we there yet? It’s the cry of those who have been waiting and waiting to arrive at the destination. Are we there yet?

Many of us struggle with the concept of waiting.

We live in an instant society  that says we can have anything and everything now especially if you have the right amount of money. No longer do we have to wait for the right season for our crops to grow we just import what we want from somewhere else. Waiting is a chore.

We live in an instant world yet when we start talking about God and discipleship  - becoming mature followers of Jesus we discover that often waiting is an important part of what it means to follow God.

Joseph waited for years to see what he had dreamed come true. He waited years to be reunited with his family. And during the waiting, he grew and matured.

What are you waiting for? What might this time of waiting have to teach you?

If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will contact you.

This Sunday @ 10am we will continue our series looking at the life of Joseph. Come and join us as we explore the life of this pivotal character from the Old Testament. This week we will be thinking about ‘Waiting‘ as Joseph waits to see God act.  Genesis 43

A children’s programme for children aged 3-8 is available during the service and a crèche for younger children.

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. We will be on holiday break during the school holidays returning again on the 11 October. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.

Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
