As we head towards the election the following prayer was used in church last Sunday.
Prayer for our Political leaders
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today seeking your guidance in the whole area of politics. We acknowledge that you are the ultimate authority, and we recognize the significance of leaders who govern our nations and communities.
Lord, we pray for our political leaders, both elected officials and those aspiring to serve in public office. Grant them wisdom, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve the common good. May they prioritize justice, compassion, and the well-being of all people, regardless of their background or beliefs.
We ask that you grant our leaders the courage to make difficult decisions based on your principles of righteousness and truth. Help them to resist the temptation of personal gain or selfish ambition, and instead, empower them to act with humility and selflessness.
Father, we lift up our nations and communities to you. Guide us in unity, that we may work together for the betterment of society. May we seek understanding and common ground, putting aside divisive ideologies and focusing on the values that unite us. Lord, we pray for the healing of divisions and the restoration of trust in the political process.
Help us to engage in respectful and constructive dialogue, even in the midst of differing opinions. May we learn to listen, empathize, and find ways to collaborate for the greater good.
Above all, we submit our desires and aspirations for political success to your will. We trust that you know what is best for us and that your plans are perfect. Help us to surrender our own agendas and seek your guidance, knowing that you work all things together for good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

This Sunday @ 10am we will continue our series looking at the life of Joseph. Come and join us as we explore the life of this pivotal character from the Old Testament. This week we will be thinking about ‘Facing up to our past’ as Joseph confronts his brothers with their past actions. Gen 42:1-38 What do we do when our past catches up with us? Do we wallow in self-pity, do we seek forgiveness, do we let it go and move on? What might we need to do in order for us to move on?
A children’s programme for children aged 3-8 is available during the service and a crèche for younger children.
To join with us on air tune in to Coast Access Radio 104.7FM from 10.00am or livestream at http://coastaccessradio.org.nz...
Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. We will be on holiday break during the school holidays returning again on the 11 October. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.
Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
