Today is the 5th anniversary of my dad’s death. My dad was a man deeply committed to following Jesus and it showed in the way he cared for others. He opened our home to strangers, oddballs, and those he felt needed someone to love them. Some of them took advantage of him, at times even stealing from our house. But his response was simple – everything I have belongs to God, and he knows our needs, it will be okay. I wasn’t quite so sure at times.
He was also a man of great patience, wisdom, and love for his family. But perhaps most importantly he was someone who modelled for others how to trust God and live as a follower of Jesus. I wonder who your role-models are and what values you have learnt from them? How have they helped you become a better follower of Jesus? And I wonder who is watching you and how you live your life – what role model are you being for them?
If you are struggling at this time and just need someone to talk to, then please email us at office@pb.org.nz or call 0223075225 and we will contact you.
This Sunday @ 10am we will conclude our series as we look at all the one-another expressions in the New Testament that encourage us in our life together. If you want to check out those one another’s have a look here. I wonder which ones you might find hard to do.
A children’s programme for children aged 3-6 is available during the service and a crèche for younger children.

Mainly Music – Wednesday from 10.00am. This programme is a fun way for parents and their children to spend quality time together based around music and movement. It is an opportunity for us as a church to connect with and offer something back to the community of which we are a part. It’s also a way for us to demonstrate care, concern, and support for those with young children.
Small Groups. We have several groups meeting. Contact the church office@pb.org.nz if you would like to join one.
